If you feel there is a lack of information, help and advice on how to cope with the effects of losing your hair in your area and think your the only one, then maybe you would consider starting your own support group in your area. Studies show that up to one in ten people will suffer the effects of alopeica at some point in their lives so there is a good chance there are many others in a similar situation to you in your community.
By setting up a support group in your area, you can bring these people together and help them as well as yourself by sharing information and experiences. If you can spare just a few hours a month, and want to start a group in your area, then contact the Alopecia Awareness team and we will give you all the information and support you need to get started. We are looking for group organisers to help run a monthly support group in your area for people of all ages, male and female who are affected by hair loss.
